Someone's In The Kitchen With Hana

Now where's that recipe?

Oh, here it is!

This bowl should work.

That looks about right.

Mmm. Butter tastes good.

Okay, it's ready. When do we eat?

We had fun doing this and flickr friends loved it enough that it went to the front page on Explore! Thank you!

The Trip I Missed

Once in September and again in October of 2008, I drove two hours north, then headed east for an hour, following the road through Mt. Baker - Snoqualmie National Forest to its end at a place called Artist's Point.

I had intended to go this year, but the first date that I chose didn't pan out because of a raging storm. The following weekend I had already planned a trip south to Portland and the Oregon Coast, and by the first weekend in October, snow had closed the road for the season.

Cats Are People, Too

These are the most laid-back cats I've ever known - four boys living in one house and everyone is pretty mellow and chilled for the most part.

Simon, Nacho, Beanie and Zach.

The Boy Loves His Football

Since first bringing Fox home more than two years ago, he's been attached to this one ball. Every time I open the door to the backyard, it's the first thing he "hunts" until it's found. Sometimes, I hide it, just to keep the challenge going and we often use it in training, since it's the one thing he wants more than anything else I can offer. More than once, he's attempted to slip it into the house, but it gets stopped at the door, to wait for the next hunt.

Slickr

We've been sharing photos on Flickr for quite some time, and I had the title "Slickr" buzzing around in my head once school started and I began to see children dressed up waiting for the bus. It was only natural when I found this yellow rain slicker on a stuffed dog at the thrift store, I knew I had to have it for Hana. It's unlikely I'll ask her to wear it again, but I'm not saying Fox won't get a turn!

Beauty in the Grass

I love finding locations that are both beautiful and fun for the dogs. This huge field near Snoqulamie Ridge provided both. Hana & Fox immediately began running through the grass hunting vermin and examining all the interesting smells.
