Love Comes in All Shapes & Sizes
A good friend has opened her home to six dogs – dogs with “issues,” senior dogs whose owners dumped them, dogs that were rescued. Visiting with her and her pack, we realized all over again that love comes in all shapes and sizes. This proves that the more love we give, the more love we find that we have to give, with twelve baskets-full left over to share.

Small Package
Hana can be a formidable hunter. She's captured three or four birds from mid-air and I'm pretty sure she could taste squirrel tail a couple of weekends ago. It's a good thing a squirrel's tail is bushy and she couldn't get a grip.
Unfortunately, her skills turn to indoor pursuits when the vacuum cleaner is out of the closet, and my floors are usually filthy as a result. Sometimes, though, something's got to give and in this case, the floors needed cleaning, so I boxed Hana up and threated to ship her to the highest bidder should she get in my way.
Of course she did get in the way, and I would never ship her off, but we had fun just the same. And by the way, she had several offers but is going nowhere.

Out & About
Have not been keeping up with this as much as I'd like. Here are a couple of shots from a recent trip to Whidbey Island, WA. Please click on the images to see full frame.

Someone's In The Kitchen With Hana
Now where's that recipe?
Oh, here it is!
This bowl should work.
That looks about right.
Mmm. Butter tastes good.
Okay, it's ready. When do we eat?
We had fun doing this and flickr friends loved it enough that it went to the front page on Explore! Thank you!

The Trip I Missed
Once in September and again in October of 2008, I drove two hours north, then headed east for an hour, following the road through Mt. Baker - Snoqualmie National Forest to its end at a place called Artist's Point.
I had intended to go this year, but the first date that I chose didn't pan out because of a raging storm. The following weekend I had already planned a trip south to Portland and the Oregon Coast, and by the first weekend in October, snow had closed the road for the season.
